We are thrilled to share some exciting news! As of May 1st, UpTop has entered a new chapter with Craig Nishizaki and Michael Woo taking ownership of the company. After 24 years of incredible leadership from John Sloat, we are honored to step into our new roles and continue the journey alongside our dedicated team and valued clients.
With over two decades of combined experience at UpTop, we’ve gained a deep understanding of what makes this company special. When John decided it was time to retire, we saw a unique opportunity to acquire a business we know inside and out. We’ve had the privilege of being part of UpTop’s growth, navigating the challenges, and celebrating the successes together. The passion we feel for the work we do, the relationships we’ve built, and the problems we solve made this decision an easy one. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we decided to bet on ourselves, knowing that UpTop’s future would be in our hands.
Co-ownership felt like the perfect path forward for both of us. Over the last 10+ years, we’ve developed a strong partnership built on trust, respect, and a shared vision. We’re aligned in both our professional goals and personal values, and we believe that together, we create something greater than the sum of our parts. Our complementary strengths will allow us to support one another and lead UpTop with balance—Craig focusing on business strategy, operations, and client relationships, and Michael on UX strategy, design delivery, and processes.
Why are we so excited? Because UpTop has built an incredible foundation over the past 24 years, establishing a reputation as a leading UX agency. We see endless potential to build on that success and maximize the opportunities ahead. Now, as decision-makers with the ability to cast the vision, we are eager to explore new growth, drive innovation, and continue delivering exceptional digital experiences that create lasting value for our clients.
